In 1933, the Michigan Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (MOGCO) was formed and began regulating oil and gas production in the state.

In 1970, the Exxon Corporation and Gulf Oil Company merged to form Exxon Mobil Corporation. In 2006, it became an independent company once again. The company has been in business for over 30 years already. Currently, it has 37 branches in 24 states across America, including Michigan. Its headquarters are in Houston Texas USA.

MOGPEF is a non-profit organization that collects donations of gasoline to support research into new technologies that can reduce road congestion while improving air quality by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs). MOGPEF aims to build a better environment through education and awareness of this issue as well as funding research projects that will contribute significantly towards solving.
